Welcome to Hockey Express – Providing Kids Hockey Camps in the South East of Ireland.
Established 2017 in the South East of Ireland, a group of like minded coaches have come together to create an academy of hockey excellence for the future stars of the game within the region. We aim to be the one-stop destination for hockey in the South East. Offering a range of hockey camps and clinics to suit children of different abilities and age groups, from 6 to 16 years of age.
Our mission is to increase participation and awareness for the sport. We aim to develop skills, techniques, improve decision making and understanding of the modern game, in a fun and safe environment.
Junior Camp – our Junior Camps or Primary School Camps are open to 6 – 12 years old, (1st class to 6th class).
Senior Camp – our Senior Camp or Secondary School Camps are open to 12 – 16 years old, (1st Year to 4th year).
Camp Pricing – Our camps vary in length, from one-day clinics to two/three day and five-day camps. You have the choice to attend the full camp or to choose specific days.
Hockey Camp Prices are as follows:
- Full week, four-day camp(get the fifth day free) – €100
- Three day camp – €75
- Two-day camp – €50
- One day €30
Hockey Clinic Prices vary depending on the speciality of the coach:
- One day €40
- Two day €65
Camp format – Each day of camp will be broken down into a number of sessions. Each session will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Water breaks will be given periodically during sessions. During this time, players may also discuss performance with coaches. Each session will have a topic, most of which will be pitch based, some of which will be classroom based. Example Sessions: Defensive Work – Stick Skills – Attacking/Shooting – 1 vs 1 – Short Corners – Video Analysis – Sports Psychology – Nutrition – Sports & Mental Health.
Camp locations –
We base our HQ in Kilkenny where the majority of our camps and clinics take place. We also run regional camps in Carlow and Wexford. In 2019 we look forward to expanding into Tipperary.
